Wonderful gift for mom with Alzheimer’s I bought this doll for my Mom’s 86th birthday. Mom has Alzheimer’s, and we have had trouble finding things that she likes to do or have. I had seen Adora dolls on the Alzheimer’s Store web site, and they had a video on the Someone to Love doll’s page that showed a woman with Alzheimer’s talking to and singing to one of the dolls, obviously delighted with it. I had not planned on spending this much on her gift during a “tight money” month, but after seeing the video, I decided to get an Adora doll for Mom. I bought it from Amazon instead of from the Alzheimer’s Store, because the price was significantly lower on Amazon. Granddaughter does NOT like this doll. I finally figured out why. Second update: I finally figured out why my granddaughter does NOT like this doll. Her arms and legs are HARD, as in ROCK HARD. There is no softness or give to them at all. NONE!!! Even with soft clothing covering them, they are HARD. The body is soft, but those arms and legs are not cuddle worthy. This doll is not comfy to sleep with. The head is HARD too. My granddaughter may have managed with the HARD plastic head IF the limbs had been a soft vinyl. This doll is pretty to look at, but she is not nice to cuddle or sleep with. I paid a lot for her so I am a bit peeved over this DUD DOLL. Why, oh why, didn’t the manufacturer give her high quality SOFT vinyl limbs?I KNOW soft limbs are possible because I had a large size cloth body babydoll with soft (vinyl?) limbs over 60 years ago.Adora dolls in this size all seem to have pretty faces. Too bad the arms and legs are BAD. I would have purchased more of these dolls. We had no issues with…
