tips for refills Great toy, but you’ll need refill! My 5-year old Autistic son got this as a gift and we can’t tear him away! I immediately went to the arts & crafts store to get more big bottles of tempera paints. You’ll need to water them down a little bit when you refill the small bottles, otherwise the thick paint will make the tops pop off when squeezed (we learned this the hard way). Also for paper, get a few pads of 9×12 mixed media paper, 72 or 90 lb. Take it to Office Max and they can cut it into 4″ squares for you. They charge per cut ($3 per cut, 4 cuts so $12). To get the most bang for your buck, get about 4 pads of 40 sheets which is about the thickness the Office Max cuts can handle.
easy to clean ~Bought this for my six year old, and the whole family loves it!!~Easy to use, easy to clean.~I would recommend buying extra paints and bottles, because you will run out quickly.~I have linked the paint and bottle I bought, and would recommend them both. The bottles are not needle point, but they have a tiny hole at the top which works perfectly. I use four parts paint, one part water. So, usually I use my kitchen scale to zero out the bottle and add 1 oz of paint and 1/4 oz water.~Mixing paints is one of my kid’s favorite activities, so I keep the bigger bottles filled with the purchased colors, and then use little bottles the kit came with to mix new ones.
