Home run I wasn’t sure about this ride on but it was a home run Santa gift for my 3 year old son who asked for an excavator this Christmas. It took me a good hour to get him off it to open any of his other gifts. I am happy that all of the sounds and music are not so loud as to grate on the nerves although they weren’t too discerning when choosing the sounds which are more appropriate for a fire engine or police car than for an excavator or construction truck. From the images, I thought the headlights would light up, but they don’t. The only lights are in the steering wheel which my son thinks it pretty cool. That’s all that really matters, right? The songs include Frosty the Snowman and Frere Jaque, so it’s a funny assortment but my son seems to really like it. He’s used it inside the house and outside in the snow banks around the plowed driveway. It doesn’t seem too sturdy so I don’t know how well it will work in the sand or dirt in the summer, but fluffy snow banks are perfect.
Def for smaller children than recommended My grandson loves this he’s only 9 months but he fits on it perfectly. I think after 18 months he may b too big. But I feel that the price is a lil high for this. But it makes him happy so I’m happy.
