Good toy for 12 to 18-month-old only This is a nice toy for a young child. BUT, it is definitely not suitable for children up to 36 months, as indicated in the description. In sum, the toy is not advanced enough to match up to the motor skills of the average child who is older then 18 months. This toy operates more like a simple sit-on scooter designed for children who are just learning to walk. It only scoots forward.I purchased this for my son when he turned 2 years old. He was excited by the construction vehicle design, but bored of it shortly thereafter. The capabilities of this toy are very limited. The tires do not turn, so the steering wheel is only for play. Also, he was slightly big for it, but he is on the tall side for his age.It does, however, have a nice aesthetic design, a place to store the blocks that come with it, and a movable excavator on the back, so it is nicer than the average ride-on scooter. Nephew digs the dirt (both the leggos that come with the ride on and some smaller ones) and dumps it into a play dump truck he has.- Sturdy material. My nephew is a boy’s boy. He can be rough. I can tell this ride on will last a long time.- Perfect size for a two year old.Cons:- My nephew has long legs. While it fits him fine now, I’m not sure if he will still be able to ride on it if he has a major growth spurt.
