Every bed that we make is independently tested to meet or exceed safety standards as set by the US Product Safety Commission, and the American Society of Testing Manufacturers (ASTM). Each bed features a slat roll foundation that supports the top mattress so no mattress base is required. No mattress base/slat roll is needed for the bottom. This style of bed is tested to support up to 200 pounds on the top bunk, and is not designed to be split into two individual beds. P’kolino only uses non-toxic paint and the finest wood for our products. For safety reasons, the top bunk is not recommended for children younger than 6 years old.
